The global hacker collective and activist group “Anonymous” responded to how the Kenyan government has been managing the nationwide demonstrations.

According to ‘Anonymous, the government did not need to use excessive force during the protests and the protestors being fought by bullets shows that the government is guilty.

“You don’t need a golden bullet to prove government corruption if they’re involved in massacres and cr!mes against humanity. Civilians facing the barrel of a gun during protests is proof enough of a government’s failed rule and illegitimacy to govern. Your lives matter.”

On June 20, Kenyan Members of Parliament were warned by the global hacker group and activist group Anonymous against passing the impending Finance Bill, 2024.

According to Anonymous, Kenyans attempting to stage nonviolent protests against the Bill have encountered police arrests and intimidation.

The group issued a warning, claiming that since some MPs’ phone numbers are now available, their secrets would soon be revealed.

“Fortunately, several phone numbers belonging to members of parliament are circulating online. Soon, there will be an uprising of hackers, many of whom may reside in your home country. Your secrets may no longer be safe, and there is a chance that all these secrets will be exposed,” the group said.

They declared that they opposed amending the Finance Bill, in line with many other Kenyans.

Rather, they desire the MPs to reject it completely. The lawmakers were asked to pay attention to Kenyans’ pleas by Anonymous.

The decentralised global hacking and activist group Anonymous is best known for its numerous cyberattacks against the Church of Scientology, corporations, and a number of states and government agencies.
