Mumias East Member of Parliament Peter Salasya has now asked the ODM party to decide if they want to be in Government or remain in opposition.

In a video, Salasya says there is no way ODM would want to be in the government and the same time oversight it.

“ODM must decide, there is no way that your heart can be on this side and the other side at the same time. ODM wanataka kua kama fisi. Yani ako kwa serikali ako kwa opposition,” Peter Salasya stated.

The MP further explains that parliament is made of representatives of the majority and the minority. Minority is the opposition that puts the government into check, and as it is, ODM doesn’t fit the position.

“You cannot be in the government and be in opposition, unless we change the constitution and say the parliament has no minority. I want to tell the members of ODM, you have to choose whether you help me there to oversight the government or you join government,” he said.

The Mumias East boss continues by reveling the failure of the Azimio la Umoja Coalition as the opposition questioning the silence by Kalonzo Musyoka.

He says by now Wiper Leader should have addressed the way forward for the Coalition as ODM has moved to dine with the government.

“There is nothing like Azimio today, because sijaona Kalonzo akitoa statement yake   there is no marriage here.”

Furthermore, Salasya asks the Gen Z to appoint him to represent them in the parliament as a leader of the youth which he believes are the opposition now.

“Gen Z should nominate me as their representative in the parliament, so that I be the opposition in leading the matters of the common citizens,” he suggested.

However, Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna has refuted claims that ODM has joined the government.

He says that party members who have been nominated to CS positions proposed themselves to the President and that ODM did not negotiate with the government for their nomination.
