Avril

Judith Nyambura Mwangi, widely known by her stage name Avril, has broken her long silence revealing the reasons behind her long time absence from music.

The celebrated singer, songwriter, actress, and entrepreneur has been focusing on her company and personal growth making her stay away from the media.

In a recent interview, the mother of a six-year-old son explained,

“I have taken a backseat because of my company and other things that I am focusing on right now.”

She compared her company to a small baby requiring a lot of care and nurturing.

Avril was bold enough to disclosed that her company, which sells organic cosmetics, was founded a few years ago after she personally struggled with acne and various skin conditions.

“I started the company after facing challenges dealing with acne and many other skin conditions,” she shared.

Acne is a skin condition that occurs when hair follicles plug with oil and dead skin cells and is mostly common in young adults.

This personal battle with skincare issues inspired her to delve into the field, where she discovered a passion that has driven her entrepreneurial journey.

“I got fascinated and decided to explore the field, and so far so good,” she added confidently.

Known for hit songs like “Nikikuona,” “Hello Baby” featuring Tanzanian singer Ommy Dimpoz, “In Love,” and “Hakuna Yule,” Avril’s disappearance from music has left fans eager for her return.

However, her focus on her business endeavors and skincare is an evidence of a new chapter in her career.

Avril’s transition from the entertainment industry to entrepreneurship not only shows  her versatility but also her dedication.

While she continues to balance her roles as a mother, businesswoman and artist, her fans expect to see more of her and maybe a return to music in the future.

Her journey is now serving as an inspiration and a testament to many, showing how challenges can be transformed into opportunities for growth and success in life.
