Controversial Kenyan dance hall artist KRG The Don has said that he will no longer be holding concerts in Kenya because Kenyans can not afford him.
Speaking to SPM Buzz, the singer said that currently his rate card is high for Kenyans.
“I have rejected local shows, in clubs, I recently did three of them and I felt they can’t afford me because my rate cart is now higher because we have included security. Currently artists are being killed recklessly. Someone might be hating you because of your success so it forces us to raise our rate card.” he said.
“Right now, my security is on another level. They can’t afford me. I no longer perform clubs and stalls.”Added KRG
KRG said that another factor hindering him from performing in the country is matters of security. According to him, event organizers and those who invite him for performances are not able to hire a competent security that will protect him from enemies who might be targeting him.
At the same time he said that he is the most influential person in the music and entertainment industry.
KRG’S remarks comes just days after he blasted Kenyans for taking selfies with him with cheap phones.
“Mafans nataka tuelewane kidogo please. Hii mambo ya kutaka picha na Bughaaa na simu yako iko chini , ukipiga picha tunakaa kama vitunguu mimi sitaki kabisaa. Its either mununue simu zamaaana ama you just kula me kwa macho. From today henceforth if you come to me for a selfie na hizo masimu machinku tena utaona tu Iwill just take it and drop it on the floor ama kwa maji direct, sitaki machoz kabsaa,” the artist said causing a buzz online.
