Actress Nyaboke Moraa was overwhelmed with emotions as she eulogized her daughter Marie Achieng during her memorial service at CITAM Embakasi.

Moraa shared details of her daughter’s birth saying that they were excited to meet her.

“I met Marie in 2005 January 5th at exactly 3.00pm. She was the most beautiful girl I have ever seen. I and the father were very excited and were really waiting for her. I gave birth to her during the time of tsunami so the nurses asked if I was going to name her tsunami and nikiambiwa mtoto amezaa mtoto, I was such a child. Still I was in my teens,” the former Tahidi High actress recounted.

According to Nyaboke, Marie acknowledged her as good person and only that the people surrounding her were bad. She further hailed her child for being a good child.

“I remember she used to cry and I would also start crying and the father would ask sasa mkilia nyinyi nyote wawili nitabembeleza nani. I don’t know how to eulogize my child, my heart is broken, my heart is so broken. We had very very beautiful moments, my heart is broken. I don’t know how I am going to release my child. A time in my life I have gone through so much and she would finds me really broken in the bedroom, ananiambia mum haukuangi mtu mbaya, watu tu wako na wewe ndio wabaya. Marie was a good child, my heart is broken,” Nyaboke said.

She added that she is not aware how she would tell her daughter to rest in peace.

“I have no strength, I am still not believing that my child is rested,” she said.

Marie died on Sunday July 28 and will be laid to rest in Kisumu county on Saturday August 10.
