Safaricom has announced that its subscribers who have not utilized their bonga points in the last three years risk losing them.
This after the telecommunications company recorded loses over un utilised bonga points.
“The accumulated Bonga points will be expiring after three years. We have noticed that they are usually dormant hence becoming a liability to us if unclaimed,” Safaricom said.
Safaricom’s new move which aims at retrieving 4.5 Billion as of March will see bonga points acquired before December 31, 2019, expire on January 1, 2023.
The telco company awards its customers a single bonga point for every Sh10 spent on voice, mobile data and SMS, and for every Sh100 spent on the network for M-Pesa transactions.
Upon redeeming the points the subscribers can use them as free internet, airtime or paying bills
All subscribers who might be affected by these move , are being called upon to use the available time and redeem their points.
