Rapper Khaligraph Jones took to the newest social media app, Threads, to share a memory of his first car.

According to him, he acquired the vehicle in 2014. He said that the car cost him Kshs250,000 which he paid in instalments.

“2014 1st whip. Nilichangisha marupurupu nilikuwa naokota kwa mashow. Big bro akaniuzia 250k yenye nililipa pole pole. Izo siku hakukuwa na Uber, Taxi ilikuwa 5k Komarock mpaka Tao. Halafu pia ukionekana kwa matatu unawekwa kwa ile blog ilikuwa inaitwa Ghafla. #RespectTheOGs,” Khaligraph said.

Commenting on the post, a netizen likened Khaligraph to comedian Njugush saying that he was telling them unnecessary things because he was selected to represent Kenya on Coke Studio this season.

“Kuwekwa Coke studio imekuchangamsha adi unaanza kuwa Njugush. Unatuambia vitu hatutaki kuskia,” the fan said.

Responding to the fan, the rapper told the netizen to take his evil heart else where.

“Sasa pia hii app mpya umeanza kunyesha bro? Wacha bana toa hapa roho chafu,” Khaligraph said.

Khaligraph and Nikita Kering are however the only Kenyan artists who will be on Coke studio. The selection has however caused an uproar among other musicians and their fans.

Willy Paul is one of the notable artists who joined the discussion. He questioned the criteria that Coke Studio uses to select musicians.

“What Criteria Does Coke Studio Use To Pick Musicians? Because For The Longest Time I’ve Been Topping Their Surveys Or Is It Another Cartel Based System? We have Myself, Wakadinali, Ob, And Many More. Anyway, Let Me Mind My Business,” the Sitolia hitmaker lamented.

Khaligraph responded to him saying that he is the cartel . He asked Willy Paul to send him his CV for considerations.

“The cartel you’re referring to is called Khali Cartel, and I am the chairman. Send your CV, and after reviewing it, I might consider you, maybe in 2030, because I’ll still be here until 2029,” the rapper said.
