The World wide famous American rapper Nicki Minaj was arrested at Schiphol Airport just as she was preparing to fly to Manchester for a scheduled concert at the Co-op Live venue on Saturday evening.
Nicki, whose real name is Onika Tanya Maraj-Petty was taken into custody after authorities reportedly found marijuana in her possession. The artist was set to perform at 20:00 BST in Manchester.
In a series of posts on the social media platforms such as X and Instagram, she showed her social media of the incident, expressing frustration over the situation by airport security and local authorities.
“Now they said they found weed and that another group of people have to come here to weigh the pre-rolls,” she wrote. “Keep in mind they took my bags without consent.”
Minaj claimed that the pre-rolled joints belonged to her security team, stating, “My security has already advised them those pre-rolls belong to him. Oh yeah & the pilot wants me to take my Ig post down.”
The rapper also suggested that the delay was intentional, aimed at creating negative stories about her.
“And the people who weigh it ain’t here told you, it’s to try to make me late so that they can write negative stories. Jealous a disease. You know the rest,” she added.
A statement from Dutch authorities regarding Minaj’s arrest stated; “We can confirm that we have arrested a 41-year-old American woman at Schiphol Airport because of possession of soft drugs.”
A spokesman for Dutch police, Robert van Kapel, told NBC News. However the real identify of the woman was not revealed.

The Manchester show was cancelled as she couldn’t make it in time.
In a separate statement, Nicki Minaj said that she was released after about 5-6 hours.
“So they succeeded at their plan to not let me get on that stage tonight. I succeeded @ getting to the root of it all by recording them & posting everything in real time. I have sooooooooo much video evidence. You wouldn’t believe it if I told you. I’ll have the lawyers & GOD take it from here tho.
“Please please please accept my deepest & most sincere apologies. They sure did know exactly how to hurt me today but this too, shall pass.,” the rapper said and further promised her fans that the show will be rescheduled.
Minaj’s posts on social media have gained a lot of attention with supporters and fans rallying behind her and expressing their hope for her release.
