The race to the FKF KPL title has proved to be quite intriguing after the game hit week thirteen and only four points separate the top five teams in the league.
League leaders Gor Mahia with 27 points, are only two points ahead of Posta Rangers FC after another win yesterday.
Kakamega Homeboyz claim the third spot with only one point behind Posta Rangers and one point ahead of KCB and Bandari FC.
KCB are in the fourth place only on goal difference margin having scored six more goals than Bandari this season.
Posta Rangers’ failure to beat Nairobi City Stars saw Gor Mahia ascend to the top of the league after their win against Kariobangi Sharks.
Gor Mahia beat hosts Kariobangi Sharks ensuring their top position in the league. Alpha Onyango opened the scores for the visitors in first half’s stoppage time.
Ghai Panchal equalised for the hosts in the 82nd minute, minutes before striker Benson Omala stole all the three points for the away team.
Omala who’s having a wonderful season with the 20 – time league winners, is currently the top scorer in the league with seven goals in 13 matches. Gor are yet to lose a match this season having won 7 and drawn 6.
Posta Rangers were handed their second loss of the season by Nairobi city Stars after Samuel Kapen scored the only goal of the match by hitting the back of the net in the first 17 minutes of the match.
Kakamega Homeboyz hosted Bidco united in a match that saw them beat the visitors 1-0 after an exquisite strike from Christopher Masinza just 10 minutes into the game.
KCB visited Shabana in a match that saw the teams share points. The match ended in a 1-1 draw after Francis Kahiro scored the equalizing goal in the 31st minute of the game 25 minutes after Brian Michira, who was voted man of the match, put a nice strike in the back of the net.
Bandari’ s win against Muhoroni Youth helped them climb up the table to the fifth spot. Defender Hassan Abdallah couldn’t miss from the spot, scoring the only goal to give the hosts a lead in the 43rd minute of the first half.
Nzoia Sugar were thrashed 3-1 by Sofapaka thanks to a brace from Fiston Abdul Razak. The Burundi International scored his first goal two minutes after Nzoia had levelled the scores. His second of the match came 4 minutes after Nzoia’s Benson Mangala was sent off. Darius Msagha was also on the score sheet for Sofapaka.
Emanuel Osoro scored the consolation goal for the home side in the 60th minute. A brace from Clinton KInanga saw Police FC manage to beat the newly promoted side Murang’a Seals, keeping a clean sheet in the process.
AFC Leopards, Nzoia Sugar and Muhoroni Youth are the bottom three teams in the league respectively. Leopards might however escape the relegation zone if they manage to win their game in hand this afternoon against Tusker FC.
