During a recent interview, former Nairobi governor Mike Sonko opened up on having bipolar disorder noting that the condition is hereditary as it runs in their family.
Sonko speaking about it that his daughter also has it adding that they regularly go for check ups as well as take their medication as prescribed.

Asked in the interview, the former governor denied being in the hospital for political purposes. He added that Gods time is the best in politics.
“When 2027 reaches,kama nikujitupa uwanjani tutajitupa,for now lets deal with the issue of patients.Let us not politicize this issue of our patients. We are here to fulfill the promise that I made during Obinnas show.”

A few days ago, former governor of Nairobi offered support to Kimani Mbugua, a journalist who has been battling mental health issues. The former governor promised to provide Mbugua with a detailed strategy that would ease his transition to a better medical facility.
Sonko pledged through his X handle to pay Mbugua’s unpaid medical fees at Mathari Hospital after speaking with the journalist’s parents.
Sonko is nationally known for his volunteering deeds, and quick to help personality. As everything else is going on in the country, Sonko will spot an area in which he’ll rush to help.
Some of his critics have come forth to claim that the politician is helping others to gain political mileage, and in many instances for his own good, as others termed it ‘PR’.
