Jacque

The much awaited ruling on the murder of businesswoman Monica Kimani was yet again postponed on Friday January 26. This is after Jacque Maribe, one of the accused in the case failed to appear in court physically.

Maribe did not avail herself in court citing illness, forcing the judge to postpone judgement to March 15, 2024

“There’s no provision for virtual today and if you tell me you’re unwell, I don’t know where you are. The integrity of the court proceedings must be observed. I would rather have an open court appearance,” Justice Grace Nzioka said.

The judge further said that she will be unavailable for the rest of January and the whole of February.

“I have taken time off the course from February 8 to March 8, 2024, to write judgments. I am willing to say that all parties are to be available for March 15, 2024. I will need adequate time to deliver this judgment,” she added.

Earlier on, the judge had ordered Maribe to be presented in court after only her co-accused Joseph Irungu showed up.

The accused persons are believed to have been involved in the murder of Kimani which occurred in September 2018.

Following the adjournment, Jacque however has lamented about being mocked

Taking to her Instagram, the mother of one noted that her body is not made of bricks hence the illness.

“To humiliate someone because of ill-health is so wrong. And to make it clear, I have never court except  once when I was ill. We are making it an issue that in 5 years I fell ill. Kwani mwili yangu imejengwa na matofali?

“Hata that time I supposedly sought time to travel we were only being respectable enough to tell the court and there was no due date interfering with that,” she said.
