Bonfire Adventures CEO Simon Kabu has addressed the viral CCTV footage where his estranged wife Sarah is seen assaulting their house help, while threatening her with a knife.
In a video shared on Instagram, Kabu confirmed that the incident took place at their matrimonial home, just weeks after they had hired the house help through his Human Resource officer.
Kabu said that he is not aware why Sarah assaulted the house help but the matter was reported at Kiambu Police station.
“The lady was hurt. The case was filed, some people wanted it to b filed as attempted murder. After sometime I had to mediate, after many meetings and begging an agreement was reached and the case was withdrawn,” he said.
Kabu said that they apologized to Sarah, noting that he can’t judge her over her action.
“Somethings can happen when someone is angry or emotional,” he said.
There have been reports that the victim was having an affair with Kabu and was even pregnant for him. Kabu has however denied the claims saying that he is professional when it comes to dealing with his workers. He also noted that he is respectable and mature to be involving himself romantically with employees.
“After she left, I still have a nanny here. I have seen a lot, I am 50 years that somethings must not happen just. This lady or any other lady for that matter has never been pregnant with mu child,” he said.
Kabu urged Kenyans to stop tarnishing the woman’s image.
Despite separating with Sarah, Kabu noted that they still work as a team at their Travel company Bonfire Adventures, which was formed in 2007.
While addressing the video, Sarah denied assaulting the house help introducing her two nannies who have served her for 8-10 years. She also showcased the affluent neighbourhood she is currently living in after leaving her matrimonial home.
