Despite her not featuring in the new list of nominated cabinet secretaries, Former Gender, Arts CS Aisha Jumwa has maintained that she is still in government.
Speaking in Malindi, during president William Ruto’s tour that is aimed for launching various projects, Jumwa said that she was among those who would formed the government and wouldn’t turn her back on it.
“Nataka niambie wale ambao wananipigia pigia simu ati nimeachwa nba rais, mimi siko soko. Mimi niliunda serikali hii na niko ndani ya serikali na nitakuwa serikalini na sitatoka serikalini. Niko na William Samoei Ruto,” she said.
She affirmed that her decision to stick with the head of state is because she believes in him.
“Reduce the phone calls,” she said.
Earlier, President Ruto had informed Kilifi County resident, where Jumwa hails from, that he will stand with Jumwa because she had supported him wholeheartedly. He promised to fix her somewhere in government
“I want to assure you that I will make arrangements for my sister Aisha Jumwa. I will make sure that she participates in the government’s business because she is a strong woman who has stood with me and I will stand with her,” he said.
Jumwa was grateful to Ruto for picking Coastal leaders Hassan Joho and Salim Mvurya to join his cabinet. Joho was nominated to the Mining and Blue economy Ministry while Mvurya to Investments, Trade and Industry docket.
“I want to take this opportunity to thank President William Ruto for giving me an opportunity to be a Cabinet Secretary in his government. It was a great honour. I trust the president. I thank him for nominating Hassan Joho and Salim Mvurya in his new cabinet. I am satisfied,” said Jumwa.
