Tanzanian media mogul and singer Diamond was left in tears while speaking about his employee Dida, who passed away recently.
The Wasafi FM presenter passed away earlier this month while receiving treatment at a hospital in Dar Es Salaam. She used to host the morning show ‘Mashamsham’ alongside Juma Lokole and Idris wa Kitaa.
In an interview, Diamond revealed that he used to visit Dida at the hospital and he was the first person to be informed about her death.
He added that he has maintained a low profile because he is grieving and yet to accept that the radio presenter is gone forever. Diamond said that he had not publicly talked about Dida’s death because it was such a heavy loss for him considering his close relationship with her.
“I have been avoiding so much to touch on anything to do with Dida publicly that is why my contribution at her funeral have been low key and not publicised…..but because of the heavy loss that got me, I have met several losses but this is one is very different. Because of the heaviness I have felt am not ready to talk about the loss. I was the first person to be informed about her death 2 minutes after she breathed her last. When I will be ready I will talk about it.,” he siad.
He admitted that he has been stressed so much and didn’t want to be seen in public in that state.
“We thank God, those are His plans. We might have someone today tomorrow God has taken them.I have not accepted,I am not okay, Dida was not just my employee, she was my close sister. I have lost my sibling I have no right words to say. I am a leader and an artists and when I am not in the right mind I can’t speak I don’t think it is okay to speak that is why I have remained silent,” he said as he broke down.
