President William Ruto will attend the Mashujaa Day celebrations that will be held in Kericho County On Friday October 20.

The County will be hosting the 60th Mashujaa Day celebrations, and as part of the preparations, there are specific traffic and logistical adjustments to be aware of.

The Rift Valley Regional Commissioner, Abdi Hassan, issued a directive on Wednesday, October 19, to regulate road usage and access in and around Kericho.

These changes have been put in place with the aim of ensuring organized movement and heightened security during the event.

Hassan clarified that vehicles with red and blue license plates will be the only ones permitted to travel through Kericho, while other motorists are advised to seek alternative routes.

Public service vehicles will not be granted access to the main streets of the town; instead, they will be instructed to drop off passengers in designated areas.

Furthermore, the Kericho main stage will not be open to the general public; it will be reserved as a parking area for vulnerable individuals and the elderly.

Notably, Moi Garden ACK Church and Immanuel will serve as designated parking areas for VIPs, VVIPs, diplomats, and service providers.

The regional commissioner stated, “Moi Garden ACK Church and Immanuel are reserve parking for VIP, VVIP, Diplomats, and service providers whose vehicles will have the red, blue, and white stickers respectively for identification.”

Earlier this week, Interior Principal Secretary, Raymond Omollo, confirmed that Kericho is fully prepared to host the national event, which will be presided over by President William Ruto.

After inspecting various infrastructure projects, including the Kericho Green Stadium, which will be the venue for the event on Friday, October 20, Omollo mentioned that this year’s Mashujaa celebrations will primarily focus on Universal Health Care, aligning with one of the key pillars of Kenya Vision 2030.

Throughout the week-long event, the county will highlight various healthcare initiatives implemented by the Ruto administration.

Part of the festivities will also be dedicated to recognizing and honoring heroes from across the country, with approximately 150 heroes selected to attend the event in person, representing heroes and heroines from all corners of the nation.
