“I reached out to the Kenya police in Ruaraka, they contacted me in the morning after we got exhausted from calling. All those rescue teams that we are advised to call in case of such an incident ignored our calls. People have started getting out of rooftops because the floods are subsiding. There are people who are trapped in the houses,” Aguko said.
The Kenya Red Cross has however managed to rescue Eighteen people, including 11 adults and 7 children in Mradi area of Mathare 4A after being stranded due to floodwaters.
Kenya Red Cross however following the heavy downpour on Tuesday has dispatched a rescue team to assess the condition in different parts of Nairobi that have been affected by heavy flooding.
