A woman identified as Lavyn Shantell took to the streets with a placard urging Mumia East MP Peter Salasya to marry her, declaring she’s ready to settle down.

She stood out dressed in a tight-fitting dress that showcased her curves, holding a sign that read, “MP PK SALASYA MARRY ME READY TO SETTLE.” She included her name and phone number, hoping for a response from the MP.

Her photo with the placard quickly circulated on social media, reaching its intended target.

Salasya responded to the viral news on Facebook, expressing his reservations. He wrote, “Naskia hii iki trend. hii machine ni kubwa sana sidhani kaa niko na nguvu ya kuendesha hii machine nitashindwa na kazi sitaki kudharauliwa kwa sasa,” indicating his reluctance to pursue the proposal due to personal reasons.

Netizens swiftly reacted to the MP’s response, offering various comments on the situation. One user, @memes_arena, humorously commented, “kumbe anapenda petite.”

Another user, @jayce_kevo, remarked, “kijana yetu ameona apo haezi toboa bila inches,” reflecting on the physical aspect of the situation. Meanwhile, @thee_tiggop wrote, “unaangusha waluhya banae,” commenting on the cultural implications of the rejection.

Other reactions poured in from users such as @lyeonmwiru, who stated, “kujikubali muhimu,” emphasizing self-acceptance, and @6780_magdah, who suggested, “say she is not your type without saying it,” interpreting the MP’s response indirectly.

@raykeyy offered words of encouragement, stating, “mhesh usishangae na ukubwa wa lori. nafasi ya dereva ni ile ile,” while @fredrick-tailor advised, “mheshimiwa ungejikaza tu,” urging the MP to atleast try.

@naivashan_seed shared a humorous analogy, “gari ni gari kwa dereva. ikiumana rusha gari kwa mtaro,” highlighting the importance of compatibility. Lastly, @kalekizo questioned stereotypes, stating, “si ile stori kuhusu waluhya huwa sio true,” challenging assumptions.

This incident follows MP Peter Salasya’s recent Instagram post seeking someone to manage his YouTube channel, focusing on ‘KIKI’ content, further igniting online discussions.
