Kenyans on social media have targeted  President Ruto’s statements praising Paul Kagame of Rwanda for winning the Monday presidential election.

They perceived his speech as disingenuous since he neglected to address the victims of the anti-government protests and instead focused on issues outside of the nation.

”Mr president, I won’t use we in this statement I appeal to you to listen to Kenyans, make a room of conversation It’s clearly u turning this into dictatorship Change or perish” an X user commented.

”We can’t wait for 2027 to send you home, we kenyans cannot congratulate a dictator who even overturned the constitution so us to remain in power. We will not allow this come 2027 we are sending you back to sugoi” another user stated.

He faced mockery from others for applauding the re-elected president of Rwanda and saying he would not be able to enjoy the same privileges.

”Guess who won’t be having another term,” some users commented.

Paul Kagame was congratulated by President William Ruto following his reelection to a second term.

With a resounding win, Kagame was re-elected to a fourth term as president of Rwanda.

“I have the pleasure to convey warmest congratulations upon your re-election to serve a further term as President of the Republic of Rwanda,” Ruto stated.

Ruto congratulated him on the people’s sovereign decision and wished him luck as he moves his country forward.

“We celebrate with you the sovereign choice of the people of Rwanda and wish you success as you continue steering your country in the path of peace, stability and posterity,” Ruto said.

“I look forward to continuing working with you in regional and Pan-African affairs in strengthening the bonds of solidarity and fraternity between the peoples of Kenya and Rwanda,” he said.
