Film Director and actor Philip Karanja has been forced to clarifies reports about the sale of a BMW X3 worth 3.5 million that he gifted his ex-wife Kate Actress back in January 2020.
Phil gifted Kate the car, just a month after the birth of their 4-year old daughter Njeri.
“Every push has been rewarded. God says try me! Do your part! Mama K 2020, let’s ride,” Kate said after receiving the gift then.
In a statement he shared online on Monday January 22, 2024, Philip however said that he sold the car with Kate’s consent and they were no issues between him.
He further called out blogs for writing false stories about the matter
“I acknowledge that blogs are to be sold and you have had your fun. I wish to officially document that the vehicle was sold on mutual consent and there are no disputes with Kate, contrary to any portrayals suggesting otherwise,” he said.
“Najua udaku huwa tamu lakini wacheni fake stories,” he added.
A few days ago, Philip revealed that he had sold the vehicle because it was expensive to maintain it. He noted that he regrets purchasing the vehicle.
“I love cars a lot, and so I was young and foolish, and I spent so much on my car, and it has been a very expensive journey to maintain. I am like, that is a car I would have used wisely somewhere. I sold it. I have decided to go back on Uber,” the father of one said.
Just a day before announcing their separation, Philip was spotted with the car, with many believing that he had reclaimed it after their marriage hit the rock bottom.
