The launch of  Timba XO club, owned by MP Oscar Sudi, went down a few days ago.

The launch was much publicized especially when it was rumoured that Diamond and his better half Zuchu would be performing. This is after Diamond and Sudi met back in March.

Following the rumours, it is believed that revellers bought tickets for the launch that were going for Ksh2,000, with the aim of watching Diamond and Zuchu perform, little did they know that the East African icons would be a no-show.

Some are now coming to a realization that linking Diamond with the club might just have been a marketing strategy. Here are some of the reactions that have been shared on X about the whole story.

Meanwhile, the booming club is facing intense opposition from locals who are demanding it to be shut down, because of  its proximity to Nova school.

“We want to tell the county commissioner to take action and the club to be shut down immediately. Us residents of Uasin Gishu and Kapseret, there are restaurants that have been shut down, is Oscar Sudi’s a church or bar. It has to be shut down,” a local said.

Another noted that the prsident and his deputy had launched a fight against alcohol abuse while Sudi was busy launching a business that is aimed at promoting that.
