Busia Senator Okiya Omtatah HAS criticizesd Azimio la Umoja-One Kenya Coalition Principal Raila Odinga, accusing him of betraying his opposition roots.

In a video circulating online, Omtatah labels Odinga’s recent political move to enter into talks with President Ruto as “political prostitution”.

“Political prostitution is not acceptable, he can do the prostitution with the old order, but I think the new order, which is exposed, cannot allow political prostitutes.” Omtatah.

The senator did not stop there. He added, “And unfortunately Baba has turned out to be a political prostitute who cannot resist the temptation to go into bed with any offer that is there by an illegitimate government.”

He said as of now the priority should be demanding justice for those who were killed during the protests instead of going into negotiations first.

“Raila has not even demanded justice for the kids who died how can you be rushing to go into government when kids have died, even some we don’t know where they are. Before going to negotiate with a criminal, why don’t you demand that the criminal comes clean on what has happened to this country?” he asked.

This explosive commentary comes after Daily Nation reported Odinga becoming a very close ally of President Ruto amidst the ongoing political tensions within the Kenya Kwanza administration.

Odinga was a fierce critic of Ruto’s government, labelling it as ‘illegitimate’, something that has changed recently.

The ODM boss defended Ruto during the party Parliamentary Group Meeting on Wednesday, July 17, rejecting all calls for Ruto to resign.

“Ruto goes, then what? He may go then Gachagua takes over [to continue] implementing bad policies. Ruto can also say ‘I am tired, let the [military] generals take over. Then the country begins to go through what Egypt went through after Tahrir Square. ‘Ruto must go’ cannot be an end,” Odinga asserted.

He continued, “It’s at times of crisis like this that a country needs to talk. We are not doing it to save Ruto. We are doing it to save Kenya. Generals don’t have teargas. They don’t have water cannons. They have bullets.”
