Legendary musician Herbert Mbuku Nakitare alias Nonini recently won a court case against influencer Brian Mutinda.
Nonini dragged Mutinda to court after he used his We Kamu song, without his consent, to advertise an electronics company known as Synix. Mutinda is now supposed to pay Nonini Kshs1 million for copyright infringement.
After the outcome of the case, Nonini was quoted saying that he needed his money by Monday(March 27).
In a phone conversation with Homeboyz Radio, Nonini was asked whether he was being hard on Mutinda so as to get the message across.
The genge artist however said that he was not serious when he demanded Mutinda to pay him as soon as possible.
“No of course not by Monday there are process that are needed. Twitter is all about banter and everything. Don’t take that serious, I don’t need my money by Monday,” Nonini said.
He added that he might allow people to use his songs for free if they approach him first.
“If someone approaches me to use my music and you tell me you like that Hunipati, you like to use it for something, I might even give you that song for free. I might not even charge you,” he said.
