Socialite Manzi wa Kibera has denied claims of squandering money belonging to her late presumed lover Samuel Ndunda Nzuki alias Mzae.
Coming clean about the nature of their relationship, Manzi wa Kibera said that Mzae had nothing under his name and he used to work in Mjengo
“Wacha nicome out clean ndio mzae asikwame mortuary ati akose kuzikwa because fans think that I have money. Fans think that Mzae was rich and he left me wealth, his title deeds. No, everything we were doing was just pure content to make you people forget about your stress. I am an actress, am not a content creator, I can get into any character within a second. That is how I used to sit down and plan how I will do with Mzae. There was nothing serious,” she confessed in an interview with Trudy Kitui.
According to her, Mzae resided at 42, in Kibera, and she approached him because she saw that they could work together. She says that she used to pay him as well as cater for his needs including buying him clothes
“I never did something with Mzae and left him free.I don’t earn on YouTube but I do sell products online. That money is what I used to pay Mzae after we doing content. I have been paying his rent all that time, I sent him Mama Fua because he is old and he has no one to help him. I couldn’t leave him unattended yet we were doing content because people would start talking that I have abandoned him yet we were doing content,” the socialite said.
She also lamented about being sidelined in the funeral arrangements by her manager Chali wa Kibera, with whom they are currently having issues.
Other reports however indicate that Mzae was buried on May 1 in a low key event and Manzi wa Kibera was not present.
Chali wa Kibera said that the family did not want the media at the event.
“I just want to inform you that Mzee Nzuki was buried today at Lang’ata cemetery and there was no media presence because the family didn’t want like media, walikuwa tu wanataka kupatia mzee a decent send-off without cameras,”he said.
