Joseph Mwenda, popularly known as DJ Joe Mfalme was arrested on Saturday March 23, in connection to the death of Felix Kelian Kitosi, a DCI detective.
Joe Mfalme and his team allegedly assaulted the detective who succumbed to the injuries days later. The team descended on the detective after he hit their car from behind in a minor accident.
Following the development, the DJ has released a statement to address the situation, while comforting the bereaved family.
“This is a public statement intended solely to address the recent developments surrounding the unfortunate incident that has come to the attention of the general public. First and foremost, we would like to express our deepest sympathies to the family, friends and all those affected by this unfortunate incident. DJ Joe Mfalme and his team have been working closely with the investigating authorities since the incident occurred,” he said.
The mixmaster added that they have been working collaborating with the police since the incident occurred.
“DJ Joe Mfalme and his team are fully committed in participating in the investigative procedure and will continue to extend their co-operation as may be required.
“We place our trust in God Almight in particular and the authorities in general to conduct a comprehensive and transparent investigation aimed at uncovering the truth,” the statement further read.
Due to the sensitive nature of the matter, DJ Joe Mfalme said they would make further comment’s about it but they will issue an update once investigations are concluded.

DJ Joe was arrested alongside three other police officers namely; Sammy Rotich Cherono, Khadija Abdi Wako and Agnes Kerubo Mugo, who are attached to the Kikuyu police station.
