Rapper Stevo Simple Boy is looking forward to a competition between him and the the 100m African champion Ferdinand Omanyala.

Stevo dared Omanyala in his Insta stories, saying he wants to confirm who has speed like a gazelle.  He went ahead and congratulated the champion for his latest victory in Botswana.

“Nakungoja kwa ground tuone nani [ana] mbio ya swara, kongole Kakangu,” the Kibra born rapper said.

Earlier confusion had marred Omanyala’s victory at the Botswana Golden Grand Prix competition. Omanyala was the first to complete the race after sprinting for 9.78 seconds but was reportedly disqualified over lane infringement.

Later reports emerged that his win upheld but will not be considered  as a world lead since it was wind assisted. The win was also upheld since the timers didn’t pick up his lane infringement mistake, neither was it reported to the timers.

Omanyala is said to have infringed the lane on his right while trying to glance at his competitor Letsile Tebogo, from Botswana, who finished second in 9.91 seconds.

According to the World Athletics lane Infringement rule, Omanyala would have been penalized if  the infringement had interfered with Tebogo.

“Running into the lane on an athlete’s right (outer lane) should not be penalized unless there is interference with the athlete running in that lane,” part of Technical Rule 17.3.1 (163.3(a) reads.
