Ruth K

Mulamwah’s bestie Ruth K has been documenting her pregnancy journey.

The content creator is almost due and she recently had her last clinic visit at Poplar hospital where she is set to deliver from.

In her latest episode of her pregnancy journey, Ruth K said that the introductory ceremony they had last October was meant to be a ruracio, but that would have happened when she was pregnant.

Plans were changed at the last minute but she had trouble informing her family about the changes as she had not informed them that she was expecting.

Mulamwah’s family however already knew that she was pregnant and his father told her the ruracio couldn’t go on in her condition according to traditions. He suggested that the ceremony should be an introduction instead and ruracio would come later when she had delivered.

“I called my dad and told him we had changed the plans when I come home I will tell you the reason. I told him to call those he had invited and tell them we had postponed the event to two weeks later. I told him it was due to unavoidable circumstance,” she recounted.

After the discussion with her in-laws, she went to her home and had no other option but to tell her family as well that she was expecting.

“I went home and told mum tomorrow’s ceremony has been cancelled. She asked why and I told her I was pregnant and ruracio could be happen so we have decided to just hold an introduction ceremony, the families will just meet but won’t have discussions about dowry,” she narrated.

Ruth K says that she expected her mother to be angry or surprised.

“She told me, ‘you thought I didn’t know?’ Roho ikarelax. Nilikuwa nimesweat yangu yote. ‘Mi niliona tu hio tumbo yako.’ What sold me out was the flat tummy I used to have, sasa katumbo kameanza kufura, nguo zinanishika kwa tumbo. Akaniambia mimi niliona tu hio tumbo yako nikakushuku lakini sikuwa sure, alitaka nimwambie personally,” she said.

“Another thing that sold me out was every time I would go I home I had fish cravings,” she added.
