Veteran radio presenter G Money, real name Conrad Gray, has announced his departure from Homeboyz Radio after nearly 17 years. For the station as well as its loyal listeners, this signifies the end of an era.
He has been the host of the morning show that was formerly known as “G-Money in the Morning” until it changed to “The Power Up.”
G Money announced his departure on X, expressing his condolences to the families of those who died during the protests against the Finance Bill 2024.
“We have lost so many people this week, so many young people who’s only crime was to care enough about their future to say “No” This moment isn’t about me saying goodbye, it’s about those who won’t a chance to say “goodbye” as their lives have been snuffed out before they truly have even had a chance to live” he said
G Money thanked everyone who’s ever tuned in to the show. He talked about how his time offered a place where many young people might stretch their wings and fly.
As I left the house this morning to do my final show on @HomeboyzRadio my heart is heavy.

Over the years G Money has developed a sizeable fan base thanks to his captivating personality, unique voice, and extensive musical expertise.
His morning shows, which combined humuor, music, and insightful analysis on current affairs, became a weekly ritual for many Kenyans.
He was welcomed to Kenya from UK by DJ John of Homeboyz Radio, and his first task there was to assist with the station’s setup.
But in the end, he became a radio personality and one of the most important people in Kenya’s dancehall scene as well as at the station.
Although G Money’s departure from Homeboyz Radio marks a big turning point for the station and its audience, it also marks the beginning of a new chapter in his life as he looks forward to new chances.
