There have been suspicions that all is not well between news anchor and film producer Rashid Abdalla and his wife and colleague at Citizen TV Lulu Hassan.

Speculations on their relationship emerged when Lulu told off Rashid during a  marriage counselling show with Bi Mswafari, Mariam Wa Migomba and Benjamin Zulu. The counselling session comes every Saturday at 7pm after the couple’s Swahili News bulletin.

During one of the weekends, Lulu openly differed with Rashid, telling him that men are heads but they are very weak and can easily be swayed. Here is how the conversation went.

Lulu: Wanaume ni viumbe dhaifu sana wanadanganyika haraka sana.

Rashid: Mwanamke hawezidanganyika?

Lulu: Siwezidanganyika kama nina watoto. Watoto wangu will always come first.

Rashid: Kwani hawa wanaume mmewaeka kwenye daraja gani?

Lulu: Ni vichwa lakini vichwa dhaifu.

Addressing the matter, Lulu denied having issues with her husband, saying that they are grateful all was well between them. She went on to rebuke those with negative thoughts on their marriage

“Mbona yeye akitoa facts hamsemi ni personal. Hamna, ni mada inakuwaga hivyo ukiona hisia inanoga sawa kabisa. Hakuna neno. Mshindwe, hio ndio kitu mnaombea, mtangoja sana,” she said in an interview with Ankali Ray.

Rashid however declined to speak on the matter choosing to hang up after saying that he had something to attend to.

The couple is blessed with three children and are among one of the most admired couples in Kenya.
