June Chebet Moi, the daughter of late former president Daniel Toroitich Arap Moi has died

June died on Thursday morning at age 60, but details about the cause of her death are yet to be made public.

In a statement, Moi’s family requested for prayers and privacy  during the difficult moment.

“We are deeply saddened to announce the passing on of our beloved, June Chebet Moi this morning,” the family stated. “At this time of grief, we request for your prayers and privacy as we the family come to terms with the tragic loss of our sister. May her soul rest in eternal peace.”

The late president Moi was blessed with eight children including a set of twins. June was the youngest and among one of Moi’s favourite children.
