The body of missing taxi driver Victoria Mumbua Muloki has been discovered at City mortuary.
Detectives were able to find the body after subjecting Edwin Ngetich, who was arrested with Muloki’s car in Nakuru, to an in intense questioning.
Following his arrest, he led the police to where he had dumped the cab driver’s body in a thicket within Mai Mahiu in Kiambu county. The police would then establish that the body was taken to City Mortuary and registered as an unknown body on September 29, 2024.
The deceased’s family will be travelling to Nairobi to further identify the body through DNA profiling.
Muloki went missing on September 27 after accepting to ferry a passenger from Diani to Samburu and back on September 25. The tracker of her car was disabled along the way causing her family distress.
Earlier, reports emerged that Muloki had been found in a critical condition in Migori on Monday evening. It however turned out that it was a scam and the caller was only intending to swindle the family money. The caller demanded for Kshs20,000 to airlift her to Mombasa for treatment. However, after receiving the money he switched off his phone
“We have not found her, and we do not have any information regarding her whereabouts,” Muloki’s niece Mbithe Muigai told the media.
Meanwhile, police records indicate that Ngetich has been involved in a similar offence in the past.
