Chantou Kwamboka, a model, a podcaster, catwalk coach and the reigning miss world Kenya is in India for the miss world festival that is set to take place from 18th February to 9th march.
Together with other beauty queens across the world, the team has so far engaged in various activities

After checking in, Chantou joined her fellow Miss World sisters from around the globe for dinner, dazzling in exquisite Kenyan jewelry and an exceptional outfit designed. 🇰🇪💫 Together, they’re embracing unity in diversity, showcasing the beauty of cultures from every corner of the world,” an update shared on Mr and Mrs World Instagram page read.
The team also paid tribute to the legendary Mahatma Gandhi.
“It was an honour to pay tribute to the Great Mahatma Gandhi. I’ve grown up reading about him and his philosophies. I was privileged to join my fellow sisters from around the world in a beautiful ceremony to pay tribute to Mahatma Gandhi this morning. It was great to embrace the spirit of peace and unity, while standing together in reverence for Gandhi’s enduring legacy,” she said.

The Miss World competition is one of the oldest international beauty pageants. It was first held in 1951 and has since become a global movement.
Contestants from all over the world participate, showcasing their beauty, talents and intelligence. The winner is then crowned “mis World” and becomes global ambassador for various charitable causes.
This year’s festival returns to India after 28years and will commence with the opening ceremony with the grand finale being at the Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai on 9th march. It will be streamed and telecast across the world.
Chairman and CEO of the Miss World Organization, MS Julia Morley, said in a statement, “My love for India is no secret and having the 71st miss world festival in this country means a lot to me. We have assembled the very best team for the 71st edition.”
Chantou was crowned Miss Kenya on stage at the two rivers mall on December 10,2022 at a glossy event that also saw Faith Wanjiku Kariuki crowned first runners up and Wabaiya Kariuki, the second runners up.
Cabinet secretary for youth Affairs, Sports, and Arts Ababu Namwamba was the chief guest.
Chantou is a Maseno University alumni. She studied medical bio-technology and has pursued a career in acting and new media behind a podcast host.
The beautiful miss Chantou took over from Miss world Kenya Sharon Obara who even went to show her support by seeing her off at the airport when she was departing to go to India.
