Machachari actress Natasha Ngegie, who played the role of Stella, has shared a rather awkward encounter with Muslim girls in a restroom.
Natasha was left in shock after witnessing one of the girls washing her feet in a sink that is used for cleaning hands. She noted that the action was unhygienic
“So yesterday, while in the restroom, I encountered some Muslim girls (2) while washing my hands. After I dried my hands, I decided to take a mirror selfie. Tell me why one of the girls takes her whole foot and starts washing it in the sink that everyone is using, including kids. This threw me off because, as much as it’s a washing sink, it’s for hands, not feet. I just found that very disgusting, especially since some people place their items on the sink, so the water splashing goes everywhere! Plus, it’s feet!” she said.
The actress said that she wasn’t attacking Muslims, suggesting that restrooms should have foot sinks/baths as well to accommodate everyone.
“Now, I am not saying all Muslims do this, but this made me gag because some splashes get to the tap, and that’s just unhygienic. Also, if you are part of the Muslim community, this is not an attack, but try and picture how someone from the outside would take such an act.”
“I feel like restaurants should have foot basins/sinks aside to accommodate the Muslim community with such needs. Also, not just restaurants—all public access buildings! As long as people from different religions and aspects of life can access your building, put the necessary things to create comfort and sanitation,” she said.
