Gor Mahia’s pre season was underway to the worst possible start after a group stage exit at the CECAFA Kagame Cup but their New head Coach Leonardo Neiva has asked for Patience from the Fans.
Gor suffered an early exit from the tournament following losses to Red Arrows from Zambia and Sudanese side Al Hilal and took a draw against Djibouti Telecom.
The Brazilian tactician who joined the club recently replacing Jonathan McKinstry who joined Gambia National team had barely two weeks to work with his players Called for Patience following their exit from the Kagame Cup.
“Just be patient, be patient please, now is transition time, we cannot change things so fast, I did not come here just to play, we came to compete and try to win.
This is football, we should accept, we should suffer now and use the three games, two defeats and a draw like a big lesson for us to move forward,” Neiva said.
The Kenya premier league Champions will now shift their focus to the inaugural coal city international Cup slated for Enugu Nigeria from Thursday 1st August. Whereby they will play their first game against seven – time Brazilian champions Corinthians on Friday 2nd August.
