Professor Kithure Kindiki has finally been sworn in as the third deputy president of the republic of Kenya.
In his speech, Kindiki extended his gratitude to president William Ruto for selecting him, admitting that her has been his political student.
“I am grateful to you sir for the honour you have given me to serve under you. Excellency, I have been your political student for nearly 20 years now and nothing in the political space has helped me pick up lessons more than the years that I have walked and served around you in various capacities,” the former Interior CS said.
“I promise that I will not let you down for the privilege you have given me,” he added.
He also promised to support and assist the head of state as well as his other colleagues in bettering the country.
“I have reflected on the words on my oath, both the oath of allegiance and also the oath of due execution of the functions of the office of the deputy president. I want to commit to you that I will serve under you and provide you with the assistance and support you require to take this country to the next level.
“I commit I will be loyal and faithful. I will try the best of my ability to work hard, together with other colleagues, to lighten the burden that you carry in your shoulders,” Kindiki sadi.
