His siblings, upon realizing that the family cow was missing, immediately launched a hunt for it. After a while they got wind that the man had driven the cow towards in a certain direction. They immediately tracked him down and caught him with the missing cow.
As they were taking the cow back, the area assistant chief together with the Assistant County Commissioner who were passing by saw the man being frog-marched.
They stopped to enquire what was going on, the man thought that the duo wanted to arrest him and immediately ran towards the swollen river with and tried to swim to the other end but the raging waters overwhelmed him and swept him away.
As a result, an angry crowd turned against the chief and attacked him, saying he was responsible for the man’s drowning, leaving him with injuries.
Such cases have recently risen in the country whereby youths are indulging in unwanted behaviours due to lack of employment opportunities, to make their ends meet. The government is urged to create more job opportunities to help curb such ill behaviours.
The government has also been urged to beef up the security personnel to reduce such cases as well as provide security to the citizens’ property.
