Elvis Oniango has reached out to the Ministry of Interior and the Kenya Film Classification Board to lay an investigation into Kanyari’s TikTok content.

Oniango’s letter to the Kenya Film Classification Board (KFCB) says that there should be an investigation into Kanyari’s activities on TikTok.

He says that the pastor’s behaviour is inappropriate and undermines public morality and set menace to younger viewers.

“I am writing to lodge a complaint and request an investigation into the online content disseminated by Pastor Kanyari on TikTok. His activities on this platform involve behavior that is inappropriate and undermine public morality.”

“Pastor Kanyari has publicly received vulgar gifts during church service, actions which are then shared online, exposing minors to unsuitable content.” read the complaint

Moreover, Oniango listed several issues that he wants to be investigated:

• Investigate Pastor Kanyari’s TikTok content.
• Regulate and monitor the online activities of religious leaders.
• Issue guidelines to ensure content shared online upholds moral standards.

He went ahead to write to the Ministry of Interior and Coordination of National Government with the same claims.

“I am writing to formally lodge a complaint and request an urgent investigation into the activities of Pastor Kanyari, a prominent religious leader who has recently gained attention for his controversial actions both online and within his church.” Elvis wrote.

Concerned with the pastor’s actions, Elvis wants the bodies to provide clear guidance and enforce compliance among religious organizations.

On his letter to the Ministry of Interior, Oniango also listed a number of concerns that he wants addressed.

“As a concerned citizen, I believe that addressing these issues is crucial for maintaining the integrity of religious institutions and safeguarding the moral welfare of our community.” Elvis Oniango.

Kanyari who has been all over TikTok on recent times holding live videos has received criticism over his content. He was gifted while on a church service by one of his followers where he shared on his TikTok account.

Elvis Oniango strongly believes that the two bodies will consider his complains and take appropriate measures towards Pastor Kanyari and his social accounts for the well-being of all citizens.
