The Judicial Service Commission has shortlisted 7 candidates for the chief registrar position to replace Ann Amadi, who proceeded for retirement after 10 years in office.

Amadi’s tenure  ended November 24, 2023, and she officially handed over to her deputy Paul Maina, who has been serving in acting capacity and is also among the shortlisted candidates.

He has served as the deputy chief registrar for the past 5 years under the leadership of Ann Amadi.

In a notice issued on Friday by the head of the JSC Chief Justice Martha Koome, it was stated that  the 7 candidates were shortlisted from the total number of 43 applications.

Those shortlisted in the said position are; Ouma Jack Busalile Mwimali, Wambeti Anne Ireri, Ndemo Paul Maina, Kendagor Caroline Jepyegone, Macharia Rose Wachuka, Mokaya Frida Boyani  and Kandet Kennedy Lenkamai.

The interviews for the position will be conducted on March 18,2024, between 8.00 am to 4.30pm by the JSC.

“Members of the public are invited to avail in writing any information of interest in respect to any of the shortlisted candidates. Please note that the commission may interview any member of the public who has submitted information on any of the shortlisted candidates and such information shall be kept as confidential,” JSC said.

Amadi is the only chief registrar who has served under two presidents since taking office in 2014.

Justice Martha Koome who presided over the exiting ceremony of Amadi termed her leadership as transformative journey that has been impactful to the judicial service commission.

The successful candidate of the recruitment process will be tasked with preparing estimates expenditure, administering the judiciary funds, being the secretary to the judicial service commission; national council for administration of justice, being responsible for the management of day-to-day operations and administration of human resources in the judicial service and also being in charge of support services in the judiciary.
