Mbosso Khan has opened up for the first time about his meteoric rise to stardom, he credits Mkubwa Fella as a mentor in his music journey where he considers him as his mentor.

He spoke about it after his successful show in the wasafi festival where he wowed his audience by entering the stage donning a towel while  smoking a big cigar.

The ”yalah”hitmaker said that his success does not come from Wasafi but from his erstwhile manager Mkubwa Fella whom he considers his father and  as the person who first discovered his musical talent and gave him a chance to showcase it to the world.

“Mkubwa Fella ni baba wa kazi mimi amenilea na amenikuza. Ni mwalimu aliyenifunza muziki. Kwa hiyo mpaka leo hii unauona Mbosso, ni Mkubwa Fella kwanza ndio kafika kwa Mbosso. Akiniona ninatumbuiza, nafanya vizuri, yeye hanioni kuanzia pale mnakoniona nyinyi, ananiona kuanzia steji yangu ya kwanza ya kukua,  Mbosso said.

Mbosso recounted the days that Fella would fine tune their performing skills he would give them bottles to use them as microphones and later afterwards they would perform to small crowds.

“Mkubwa alikuwa anatupa chupa za maji hizi unazoziona, alikuwa anatupa unatumbuiza Mkubwa anakuangalia unavyotupa mikono kushoto na kulia, kuwa mtumbuizaji, tukaendelea tukawa paka tukapata vifaa vya bendi tukaanza kutumbuiza bila maikrofoni. Tulianza nikiwa miaka 16 mpaka sasa hivi nakaribia miaka 28 sio mchezo,” Mbosso revealed.

Mbosso launched his music career with Wakubwa na Wanawe, which later became known as Yamoto Band. The band comprised three other equally gifted young singers, namely Enock Bella, Aslay, and Beka Flavour.

The band released a few tracks that performed extremely well. Nevertheless, the group was disbanded in 2018. It later emerged that the boys had issues among themselves that forced them to part ways. Some of them believed that they could do better on their own.
