Former Jubilee Secretary General and Rarieda MP Raphael Tuju has reflected on his life as a politician saying that it was a mistake.
According to him, he feels that he wasted a lot of time instead of focusing on other things
“I made a mistake, I look at my life in politics sometimes as a lot of regret because I think that it was a waste of my life, I could have done other things,” he told family media.
He however acknowledges the fact that through politics, he was able to help the less-fortunate students through scholarships.
He also did not rule out the possibility of him returning into active politics in future, but admitted it was no longer his thing.
“You know if any politician tells you that they will never go back into politics, he is lying. So, I don’t want to lie. No, it is not in my blood, but sometimes you may find that there is a certain conspiracy of factors coming together and putting a wind behind you, to pull you in a certain direction, so basically, if it is that I go back I think I’ll be looking at all ..basically what the Lord wants me to do,” Tuju said.
“My future belongs to God, I think what is important one day at a time, in the sense that I sympathize with those who now they start talking about next year, the 2027, elections, some are even talking about the 2032 elections. I look at them and say wow they are braver than me because I don’t know what’s gonna happen next week, life is a loan from God, it is a gift from God and you can be sitting here and thinking you are very okay, all of a sudden..cancer growing you don’t know, you don’t know if you will be the next victim of a crash, anything can happen anytime,” he added.
