Renown radio presenter Maina Kageni has opened up on the lavish lifestyle he enjoyed while growing up.
Maina and his family resided in Karen, one of Nairobi’s affluent neighbourhoods. Their luxurious home had two living rooms.
“We had two living rooms and a TV lounge upstairs. You had to be a member of a movie library and when I was I think 12, I had a big Sony-coloured TV in my room,” Kageni reminisced during the Kijana ya Karen TikTok series.
At the same time, he revealed that he never used matatus while growing up.
“I have never been alive without a car, my dad’s car was a Peugeot 504, it was red,” he shared .
The radio personality currently drives a wide range of luxurious vehicles.
The media personality enjoyed such a comfortable life because his mother initially worked for the United Nations (U.N). She later took up the responsibilities of running her businesses as well as those of her late husband’s.
His life was also shaped by renowned media mogul SK Macharia. According to Maina Kageni, the Royal Media Services boss raised him, and he sees him as a father
“Another big influence in my life was S.K Macharia, he basically raised me, he was the father figure that I never had, and his children are my brothers and sisters,” Kageni acknowledged.
