Morara Kebaso has recounted the incident where he was attacked by goons at the Bomas of Kenya last Friday, during a public participation forum, with regard to the impeachment of DP Rigathi Gachagua.
In an interview with Spice FM, Kebaso said that he was unwelcomed to the event and his attack had been planned prior by goons believed to be working for Ruraka MP T.J Kajwang’, Dagoreti North MP Beatrice Elachi and Makadara MP George Aladwa
“I have an injury on the neck but it is getting better. The expectation that we have when we go for public participation is that every person’s voice counts and nobody is disallowed from coming to public participation. It seems I was unwelcomed when it came to the ODM organised event. Plans had been made much earlier that I will be attacked because by the time am being attacked or signs of being attacked are showing up, I was actually seated on my chair raising my hand to speak,” he said.
According to him, the public demanded that he shares his views but T.J Kajwang, who was the MC, was not willing to hand him the microphone, and instead accused him of coming to disrupt the function. He added that there were enough red flags but he failed to see them.
“Its in now that am going back into memory to see where actually I got it wrong. There were enough red flags that I should have seen that I didn’t see, next..we fall we rise, we learn,” he said.
Kebaso said that people were aware of his position where he was advocating for the impeachment of both the president and his deputy and that is why he encountered hurdles while trying to access Bomas of Kenya.
He was blocked at the entrance, the first, second and third door of the premises.
“I came back to the first door. A high ranking officer told me I can only go in with one person. That is where my security was compromised. I don’t know whether it was intentional,” he said.
