Christina Shusho has found herself in the middle of a heated debate on Kenyan twitter as her fans and haters had a field day with each other regarding her source of lyrics.
It all started when one X user shared a video that has since gone viral depicting directly sourced bible quotes in Shusho’s tracks.
This where Kenyans on X got divided. Some argued that the Tanzanian songbird was not talented and creative and that was the reason why she plastered bible verses word for word in her songs.
Others however felt different. They stated that the songbird was talented as she had the ability to turn bible verses to sweet melodical tunes.
On catching wind that she was trending on the X platform, the award winning gospel musician who is currently in Arizona, USA for a Hope Of Life Worship event where she is the lead pastor took it to her X account to comment under a fan who had rallied support for her.
“I want to convey sincere gratitude to all Christina Shusho fanatics for making the right choice, Not only has she won our hearts but also our souls. I cannot take for granted the dedication, participation & support given to management.”@iconic_gravity wrote.
Shusho thanked the fan stating that she did not the support for granted.
”Ahsanteni sana I don’t take it for Granted.” she commented.
The debate went on for the better part of the weekend with almost each Kenyan on X jumping into the issue to air out opinions.
”The most unoriginal “artists” are gospel singers. Take the Bible away, and they have zero content. Bure!”
”I am surprised you guys are surprised. This is how gospel music is supposed to be. Sing from the scriptures.(Bible)”
”She did the same with bwana umenichunguza. Straight from Psalms 139.” netizens commented
