Former DP Rigathi Gachagua has shared the positive side of his impeachment.
Speaking at the funeral of Lucy Wambui Ng’ang’a, who succumbed after a botched cosmetic surgery, Gachagua noted that he at least now has time for friends after his removal from office.
He added that he also has time to read the Bible
“In what has happened to us in living office at least the positive thing is now we have enough time for friends . Anything that happens has a bad side and good side. We have time for friends and friends are very important, genuine ones are not many, if they surpass 5 you are lucky. Last Sunday I spend a lot of time with bishops. I didn’t have time reading the Bible, various interpretation and we shall be able to do that all the time,” he said.
He also lauded his community for staying calm after the impeachment.
“They expected people to go to the streets and protest that is not who we are. When we feel offended, we keep quiet and say nothing,” Gachagua said.
He also comforted the family of businessman Francis Ng’ang’a for the death of his wife acknowledging how hard working and honest they had been in their car imports business.
“You and your kids know how heavy it is to lose her, as she’s a pillar to your family. We cannot pretend to know how hard it is. We pray that God gives you the strength to deal with it. Teach these boys to work with you, stay united as a family, and continue doing God’s work. We love and respect you,” Gachagua said.
