Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has intervened on the ongoing Leadership struggles in the Africa Independent Pentecostal Church of Africa (A.I.P.C.A).

Gachagua took to his social media on 21st November and said that he held a fruitful consultation with the top leadership from various groups of the church, ahead of their elections which will take place on Friday. to elect their spiritual leader.

The Central Region Commander Fredrick Shisia and The PS interior Ray Omollo were also present during the meeting which was held at the DP’s Official Residence in Karen Nairobi County.

“The leaders have committed to a peaceful election and to accept and respect the outcome” Gachagua stated. “They have committed that the church will be one and the issue of the factions will come to an end on Friday.”

Sometime back the former President Uhuru Kenyatta had tried to settle the leadership disputes in the A.I.P.C.A church but it was in vain.

The A.I.P.C.A church had gone through an ordeal when the retired Archbishop Julius Njoroge Gitau, ArchBishop Fredrick Wang’ombe and Samson Muthuri were embroiled in a leadership dispute.

In addition,  Gachagua also held a meeting with the leadership of Kitengela PCEA at his official residence in Karen regarding a disputed piece of land on 20th of November.

Since his inauguration, Gachagua and his spouse Dorcas Rigathi have been seen defending the church.

This was evident when the two took matters at hand and castigated those who were condemning the church during the tragic Shakahola Cult Massacre perpetrated by the controversial preacher Paul Mackenzie which claimed more than 220 lives.

Concentrating on the Shakahola Massacre, Rigathi issued a declaration that the Government will remove crooked religious groups which are trying to stand in the way of church operations.
