Chief Executive Officer at The Music Copyright Society of Kenya (MCSK) Ezekiel Mutua says public office is not going to be for looters anymore.
Ezekiel Mutua shared his thoughts on his X account commending the revolution by the young people in reshaping the government through protests.
“At this rate, public service will be very unattractive to thieves and lazy people. People without inherent drive and commitment to service will not need to seek public office. I never thought I would live to see Kenya get to this level,” Mutua shared.

Commenting on this post by the MCSK CEO, one X user said accountability and transparency is needed in every governance.
“We demand accountability and transparency from every department and anyone who has ever been in office.”
Additionally, other comments had the same reasoning and assured that the revolution and demands are yet to be met. They said that it’s not over until their requests are met fully.
“Na bado. It’s only getting started. These public positions shouldn’t be made so lucrative because it’s money that attracts thieves and conmen to such as opposed to service delivery.”
“You all saw it coming, but never talked about it. Public offices should be respectable, we have cried for long.” Reasoned with Eziekiel Mutua.
“That’s the direction we need. We need public servants who are driven by a love for country and not for the access to money and power.”
Another X user went ahead to compare public service to priesthood saying it’s not meant to make wealth from but for service delivery.
“Infact public service should be so unattractive just like being a priest or a pastor it is what it is service not an avenue to enrich oneself na kiburi mingi na madharau,” the follower commented.
Kenyan youths have been holding continuous protests in the country since the month of July demanding good governance.
They also demand accountability by government officials on public resources, resignation of some officials and prosecution of others.
