Eric Omondi and his girlfriend Lynne are facing backlash online after they decided to use a waterfall to reveal the gender of their unborn child.

Netizens have accused the the couple of polluting water after they poured an unknown coloured substance to reveal the gender of the child they are expecting.

“What was poured in the river? ain’t that water pollution though?” a netizen commented on the video that Eric shared on his Instagram.

“That’s against environment and river wacha serikali ione itatengeneza pesa  na wewe,” read another comment.

Also reports of a Brazilian couple who were fined over Kshs200,000 for using a waterfall to reveal the gender of their unborn child also emerged.

Eric and Lynne however say that they the did not pollute the environment as many claim. Speaking to Mungai Eve, the couple they used a coloured fish food for which would not cause any harm to living things in the river.

“I love the idea na sidhani kuna harm imecausiwa coz ilikuwa food color. So sidhani tumeharibu kitu hapo akiplan kila kitu aliconsider everything aliconsider environment,” the soon to be mother said while Eric added, “Actually hio ni chakula ya fish, hio tumemwaga hapo ni chakula ya fish.”

The couple further said that they were looking forward to having a baby girl. According to Lynne, girls are easier to handle. Eric on the other hand said that he wanted a baby girl  because he spend most of his childhood with his brothers. His sister came later when he was all grown.
