Owalo

ICT CS Elid Owalo has hinted at a significant upcoming development that could potentially reshape Kenya’s economic landscape.

Addressing the registered individuals via a live virtual event, Owalo’s message was brief yet impactful.

“Dear Kenyans, brace yourselves for a transformative financial revolution that will empower every citizen,” he said.

He went ahead to emphasize that the World Coins initiative would play a pivotal role in this upcoming shift, promising to unveil more details in the coming days.

The announcement instantly ignited a wave of speculation across the nation. Analysts and citizens alike debated the potential implications of Owalo’s words, with some suggesting the introduction of a new digital currency backed by tangible assets. Others speculated about enhanced access to global markets, while some even hypothesized the creation of a domestic blockchain infrastructure.

World Coins, a decentralised platform with a rapidly growing user base, has gained popularity for its secure and borderless financial services. The inclusion of Kenyan citizens in such a groundbreaking initiative has already raised eyebrows, and Owalo’s revelation has only intensified the curiosity surrounding the project.

Earlier during an interview with Citizen TV, Owalo assured Kenyans registered with WorldCoin that there biodata is safe.

“That data is secure, if anything the office of the data commissioner has gone ahead to ensure that that data is not going to be infringed. I don’t want to go into details at this time because I run the risk jeopardizing the ongoing investigations,” he said.

Owalo added that Kenyans will be informed about the findings of the investigations once its concluded.

“We are a responsible government, if there is information that needs to be shared  with the public and when that information is ready we definitely give to the public because we serve the interest of the public., that’s why we exist as the government, we govern on the behalf of the people,” the CS further said.
