Former UDA Secretary General Cleophas Malala has claimed that his son and 19-year brother in-law were abducted by gunmen.
According to the Malala, the duo were forcefully taken and tortured in a bid to establish his whereabouts or that of his wife.
After 6 hours of torture, Malala’s relatives were dumped along Thika Road, where he was able to find them safe but in trauma.
“My Son and my 19 year old brother in-law were abducted at gunpoint. They were tortured for six hours to disclose my whereabouts or that of my wife and to show them the way to my residence in Kitengela. After failing to find me or my spouse at home they dumped the two along Thika road; I have picked them up safe but traumatised and shaken,” he wrote on social media.
The development come at a time when Malala has been vocal in defending DP Rigathi Gachagua against his impending impeachment. During a church service in Thika on Sunday, the former Kakamega senator revealed that Suna East MP Junet Mohamed and his Homabay Town counterpart Peter Kaluma were plotting for Gachagua’s removal.
He warned President William Ruto that betraying his deputy will eventually lead to his ouster.
“I have been informed that the MPs being fronted to table the impeachment motion against Gachagua are Junet Mohamed and Peter Kaluma. I’m telling you, Mr President, those MPs will start by impeaching Gachagua, and then they will turn against you in 2027,” he said.
Malala was kicked out as UDA SG in early August.
