Churchill’s major breakthrough came when he became a theater actor at the Kenya National Theatre. It was at this point that he understood humor was his actual calling.

Equipped with his own perspective on Kenyan society and motivated by global comedians, Churchill embarked on a mission to transform the comedy scene in Kenya.

In 1996, Churchill established the Churchill Live comedy show, a platform that would transform the face of Kenyan comedy forever.

Emerging comedians from across the nation were able to interact with viewers nationwide and display their ability on the show. Churchill wanted to establish a platform for the growth and celebration of Kenyan humor.

With his magnetic personality and ability to connect with diverse audiences, Churchill quickly became a household name.

His jokes resonated with Kenyans from all walks of life, touching on socioeconomic challenges, cultural complexities, and everyday situations. He demonstrated using his humour the ability of laughter to serve as a unifying factor among the many ethnic groups and backgrounds that make up our nation.

Churchill’s influence was not limited to the theater. He made use of his connections to support and guide up-and-coming comedians, giving them advice and stage time. Many prominent Kenyan comedians owe their start to The Churchill Show, which helped them become well-known and open doors for their careers.
