A video of chef Damilola Adeparusi alias Chef Dammy of Oye Akiti surpassing Chef Hilda Baci marathon cooking record has gone viral.
The video that was shared on Spirit Word Global Mission account, shows Chef Dammy crossing Hilda Baci’s 100-hour mark made in May.
Dammy’s cooking marathon started on Friday June 9 but netizens have thronged her social media page criticising her of wanting to take the limelight from the current world record holder Hilda.
Despite the overwhelming critics, She has vowed to stay in the kitchen until she cooks for 120 hours. She has currently cooked for 104 hours.

The video comes just moments after the Guinness world record recognised Hilda Baci as the longest cooking marathon winner with a records of 93 hours and 11 minutes. Her cooking hours were reduced due to mistakes she made during her resting time.
“After reviewing all the footage, we’re delighted to announce that Hilda Baci is the new record holder for the longest cooking marathon (individual). Hilda attempted to set a record of 100 hours, however, almost seven hours were deducted from her final total because she mistakenly took extra minutes for one of her rest breaks early on in the attempt,” Guinness World Record revealed.
Hilda Baci has however supported Chef Dammy, encouraging her to keep going via a tweet.
If Dammy cooks for her intended 120 hours, her footage will be subjected to strict verification by the Guinness world records before she is announced winner.
